Day 4 Taipei City

Taipei City, because our group in charge of the map of taipei city, so we are very nervous and concern. 1st station we reach is 台大医院站，just beside there is teh Peace Park. It is a nice place to hang out, jogging, to take a quick rest then continue walking. It like a green lung in the city.It is memorial place.

Similar like Jewish Museum, the Taiwan Museum also located inside a Peace Park that memorial the pass of the heroes. Differently is the building still remain the neo classical style. The typical neo classical style building but add in some east element is learn from japanese architecture. They want to learn the great of the western and apply on their own building.

Every entrance from the site, there is a 牌坊，it serve as a entrance gate and also sometimes it means something. It can found easily in China and also Japan. But the material using and the pattern of both country will be slidely different. I think this 牌坊 is China style.

This building is so China Style. It serve as a 凉亭. it is very grand and the construction is complicated. The building still keep well although it not an old building.The landscape design is using the chinese 后花园设计, the buiding stand on the lake, and link by the bridge, it feels like the scene of the 皇宫后花园，感觉随时会有穿古装的人突然冒出来。

来到台大医学院，在大厅就可以看到非常传统的表演，感觉就像在听歌台剧，好有回到爸爸妈妈的年代。一来可以让老人家有消遣的活动和地方供应，一方面也可以用悦耳的音乐演奏让病人保持愉快的心情。大厅的地板用格子的砖块，让人有一种怀念的味道，然而也可以区分大厅这种休闲的地区和别的病房，重要区域。 古香古色的医院跟马来西亚的很不通，相信跟很多国家的医院也不同。

After that we back to peace park, The monument over there is very bouky, very big. But the design from here look awsome. there design something very modern style.

This is the pathway design and the resting place for the peace park. It create as a stone shape but it combine with the sitting area. And the flow shape can lead the padestrian to walk along the 'stone chair' although there is not proper path way show the route.

Compare to our colonial building, their building look more smooth in curve shape and also look more heavy than us, cause our colonial building is made by timber and later on is brick or concrete. But in Taiwan, maybe they have earth quick and taifong, they need to built their building is very strong way. so they choose brick or mansory. And the colour of the building is very dark in colour. Seldom see something is yellow, white, red or somthing that will reflect until you step nearby taipei101 that area. So you will think it is quite big contrast when you walk along Taipei city other area then you enter Taipei 101....

中山堂，a very huge building a bit looks like factory or jail ( maybe see too much Hostel movie series). It locate at the city.

On the way, i saw this building. It looks like a modern building. Using cladding, modern window but attach with modern style brick finishes. It looks great. I am wonder why they need to apply brick style finishes. Can they consider other pattern?

Back to 台大医院, the building using Queen Anne Style. It is a bit different from the museum( because museum is new classical style) and it add a balcony on top of the entrance. It abit like europe style vacation house, when we enter the house, there is a bit shaded roof, then when we walk up the 1st floor, we can view the whole sea side or sunset at the balcony. And there is corridor apply on every floor. It think maybe last time is open space concept cause no air cond.

From the begining we though it is a natural skylight, but when it turn into certain angle, we found out there is a bulb inside it. Im wonder why they duwant straight away use skylight, because of too hot? Or the design have to enclose the roof? Hope can get to see the roof plan then learn from there.

Normal door which modify the old style of the 门闩 become modern type. Maybe next time we can modify something old style material or building apply into our design? i know it sound like very easy but when come to real.......

The building inside got 3 green pocket, the middle part have water features which you will feel very fresh air and 生动。Come to other 2 green pocket at the both side, it looks a bit wet because it surrounded by building. Surprisingly the green pocket not look very 'fungus' maybe because of the humidity of their weather. In malaysia, you can go Sungai Buloh Hospital, there is a couryard which consider green pocket at the centre of the buiding, because of lack of sunlight, the green place become very wet and full of 青苔。It really looks not pleasant and the big problem is, are they going to effect the patience? Or maybe it will cause SBS?

At the corner of the buildng, there using the small space to create a outdoor cafe. It really space planning well. It turn the very hard triangle shape into outdoor useful space. And using the timber floor it can create a very relaxing environment, of cause with the trees.

After that we go hunting for our lunch. We saw this looks like ilegal building. The building using zink as the wall, it just looks like our 非法住宅区in Kepong last time. Very miss that kind of building. 感觉像攀缘植物想拚命在比自己大的植物旁努力生存。

This is the beef shop that we visit. The taste very different from Malaysia. Im a big fan of beef meat. This shop 口味很重，久久吃一次非常过瘾，if i bring my mum to eat sure she like it very much. See Chin mei and Jiun Hao face then you will know. Jiunn Hao 1st time taste Beef, he feel guilty but mouth keep say very nice wor very nice wor...then the other day he 破戒 again....

After that we come to 北门邮政局，i think the building is under restoration or maintainance. The facade already old and will drop any time. So they try to use the hard wier mash to cover it. Their goverment building or specific building like pos office, Electric Station like tm point, didn't design in a specific design, like our post office, we will see the building in grey, red and blue. If we go Tm net station, we also will see blue, white and grey. It can regconize easily. We just manage to visit 1 pos office. Maybe there also have the same design? I only know they have the logo, using green colour.

Later on, we pass by this area, from the photo , we can saw the contrast of short building conpare to skycraper. 照片看起来高楼有点海市蜃楼的感觉。

Then we pass by this building, 总统府，same design with the Tai da hospital, The trees they design into very chinese style, very cute. The centre part of the building, 钟楼有点像我们的 Building abdul samad. From lectuere, we know that the middle part is sit on 2 big beam. Im sure that 2 beam is very very big and using 100 years hard wood or 100% hard ingredient to made. If not sure can't support the heavy 钟楼。

This car park is opposite the 总统府，as you can see, they floor is using tile and they manage to plan green under it. althought the surface of the green is just a little, but im sure it can make the environment more fresh and green.

The East gate. design look more grand and complicated than north gate.


This is the playground we found out around that area. Using concrete as the material, I think it is quite expensive but for the long term consideration, it is very good idea. But i think in can't apply in Malaysia cause the weather problem. It will cause fungus.

The Traffic in Taiwan.

Facilities for Bike, Actually they prefer using bike because the pedestrian and bike walkway in Taipei City are very successful.

自由广场，I found out there is no roof cover pathway, if too hot or raining then im sure we all going to become 咸鱼干或落汤鸡。

Inside the building, the ceiling, it look very 富丽堂皇，and at the middle, is that the star we can found out from the flag of Taiwan?

The out look of the building. The staircase very grand. Hmm...in my mind....i keep thinking is this building design from Japanese Architecture? The roof look so.....Japanese style..... Am i wrong?

2 Building was similar but i think the roof is slightly different. The building very 紫荆城 feel.



At the middle of those building is a big open space, thats why call 广场。The local people will go there for exercise and bring their pet to have some outdoor activities over there. Im sure when the morning time there is a lot of activities there such like 打太极拳.

This is our Chin Mei classmate, we can see how big is the scale of the Gate.

After that we went back by bus.
